Characteristics
Solitary
or gregarious, light green membranous, frond tapering below, above
the stalk elongate-attenuate, tubular, cylindrical, clavate or generally
inflated, simple or rarely sparingly branched from the very base or
proliferous. Cells not arranged in any order in the inflated portion,
rounded-polyhedral, in surface view 9-15 micron diameter, the whole
membrane 20-40 micron thick, the cells in section radially rounded-oblong,
about 14-17 micron tall, the lateral walls thin but rather thicker
on the inner side.
